Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.
To be pure in heart you need not be a saint, but strive as they did. Jesus said that if we wanted to enter the kingdom of heaven, we had to become like children. Why? Because children are pure in heart, innocent, capable of believing.
Clear your heart of hatred, fear and doubt, fill it with confidence and faith, empty yourself of anxiety, anguish and fears; when you do that, you're acting like a little child and as you behave in such manner, God fills the void with something totally different, you'll feel safe, calm, confident and without fear, and what is that feeling? That feeling is God.
Try it; it is not difficult; sit for a moment, if you are in the Shrine, better, do it there. Close your eyes and give your heart to the Mater, empty yourself of fears or doubts and let her fill you.
At that time you will experience God's presence. I'm so sure of that, because at this very moment, as I write this, I closed my eyes and felt as if I was in heaven.
Jesus is right, the pure in heart shall see God and you do not have to go to heaven to experience it.
